As we can see in the second row of Fig. 2 the approach is capable of handling Poisson noise on sinogram data, using proper weights in (7). We emphasize that these experiments are in a few-view setting and 45 projection angles is signiﬁcantly smaller compared to results reported in  for the pixel-basis which matches our ﬁrst-order box spline. We observed a similar trend in the reconstructed images for brain dataset. Fig. 3(left) shows reconstruction accuracy (SNR) of higher order methods for brain phantom from 60 projection angles.
